Here’s a video on how to place a kevlar patch on a kevlar canoe, particularly a Souris River, but the technique is very similar for other, less glorious brands of kevlar canoes, even Brand X.  The principle is always the same:

  1. Sand the area for the patch
  2. Apply epoxy resin to that area
  3. Apply pre-cut kevlar patch (or fiber glass)
  4. Apply more resin to make sure patch is wet
  5. Cover with plastic wrap stretched taut with tape
  6. Squeeze out air bubbles
  7. Let it cure completely
  8. Peel off plastic
  9. Paddle

It’s always the same basic technique.  Not hard to do.  Just have all of your ducks in a row as far as materials needed and  work on a nice day.
